Quick News Update:
After reviewing the author proofs we received from Amazon, we have made a few changes and corrections from some of the kind folks that have already read the entire book. The final draft has now been approved and submitted for publication. It can take up to 72 hours for the book to be reviewed by Amazon before approval. Once approved, it will be available for sale just like the Kindle eBook is already.
Pricing will be as follows:
eBook: $3.99 (for Kindle or the free Kindle Reader App for PC)
Paperback: $14.95
The reason for the pricing is pretty straight forward. In order to make any money at all off the printed copies of the books, we had to price it at $14.95 which basically means we get roughly $3.00 per book.
The deal with Amazon KDP that is kind of nice though is that unlike traditional publishing methods, where a distributor has to buy x# of copies of your book up front and then hope that they all sell, with Amazon, the copies are printed to order at the local distribution centers. It does mean the cost per book is higher for the author, but there is no inventory to manage.
As soon as the paperback goes live, we will begin blasting out information with links to, well...basically everyone I know. These things are really powered by word of mouth advertising. So, if you pick up a copy of the book, read it, and enjoy it, please please please tell a few friends about it! =)
